Ron Paul Misinformation May 21, 2007

After the second Republican Presidential debate, candidate Ron Paul caused quite a stir with his comments on foreign policy – and the seeming “free kick” he gave to Giuliani.  For the record: as a libertarian, I mostly support Ron Paul, but I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says.  I have been quite surprised however to see the level of deliberate misrepresentation of his remarks, and the blatant media bias.

I thought he was explaining himself pretty well in the post debate interview – but then Sean Hannity had to stick his beak in:

You call that journalism, Sean?

Then we had attempts from other Republicans to ban Ron Paul from further debates.  But the worst case of outright rubbish came from the delighful Michelle Malkin, who labelled Ron Paul as a truther – declaring that he has “no business” being on stage.  A truther, for the uninitiated, is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist (or, as I prefer to call them, “9/11 denialists”).  Ron Paul is of course nothing of the sort, and yet Malkin and Fox persisted in labelling him one.

In other news, here’s Giuliani in drag, smooching with Donald Trump:

Theyr’e like a classroom of losers with the exception of one bright student who works hard, in a desperate attempt to destroy him in front of the eyes of the teachers, in order to make themselves look less bad.

The republican party are nearly all neocons now… Ron Paul won’t win, but with any luck he’ll make an impact on the party (assuming they don’t snuff out the last remainder of like-minded party members)

If it’s gonna be all NeoCon, that whole party can kiss my ass. The only other one running in that party who interests me is Tom Tancredo. The Neo-Cons are truly the worst kind of people (well, maybe just the west), lying, manipulative, power-hungry; always willing to pretend to be generous, but with other people’s money; murderous, authoritarian, statist, imperialist, racist, meddlesome, zionist, double-dealing, fear-mongering; The list goes on and on. They should not be taken seriously in a debate, rather, they should be dropped out of airplanes without parachutes.

“lying, manipulative, power-hungry; always willing to pretend to be generous, but with other people’s money; murderous, authoritarian, statist, imperialist, racist, meddlesome, zionist, double-dealing, fear-mongering;”

Except for ‘zionist’ you describe almost every politician in EVERY country. heh

And Ron Paul believes that we need to look harder into what happened on 9/11. Not exactly a ‘truther’ but at the doorstep.

(btw, Fred in ‘08) :)

Hmmm… it sounds as though whilst he’s not a truther, he’s eager not to offend them because he wants their vote. Disturbing if true…

That Foxnews Bimbette is a trip! Calling a Doctor and Statesman ‘ignorant’ (what is her degree in?) and saying he has ‘no place’ in the Republican Party?

Amazing. I LOVE the first comment with the school analogy…but at my school, Michelle wouldn’t be sitting with the cool kids

What the hell does she know? He must of been in the Republican Party since before she was born. (with a bit of a break in the 80’s)
